The jungle is thickly covered with diverse vegetation. Most plants grow very low to the ground making it very difficult for people to travel through. The tangled, and messy vegetation is what makes a jungle differ from a rainforest. Jungles typically lie along the sides of a rainforest where some kind of natural disaster hit. Jungle vegetation is the succession from a rainforest disturbance.

Similar to animals, plants also play a very important in the jungle. Trees provide oxygen for the animals, help clean the air and even cause it to rain. For the animals who are herbivores, plants provide a source of food so they are able to contribute to the nitrogen cycle. Plants are very important to the carbon cycle because they use carbon dioxide from animal cellular respiration and through the process of photosynthesis, turn the carbon dioxide into fresh oxygen to be cycled.
Photosynthesis: the process by which plants convert carbon dioxide in the air into oxygen. Cellular Respiration: the release of carbon dioxide from living organisms. Nitrogen Cycle: the continuous cycle where atmospheric nitrogen and nitrogen compounds are converted into acids and proteins for animals to use for energy.
