Plants and animals in the jungle are very dependent on each other. If one species dies off, it will dramatically affect another species. Jungles and Tropical Rainforests have the greatest biodiversity out of any other ecosystem. Groups in the jungle can be grouped by:
Top Predators
Jaguars, Cougars, Ocelots, Leopards and Tigers.
The Largest Animal
Jungle Elephant, the Okapi, Rhinoceros, Water Buffalo, and the Tapir.
Rodents
Capybara which is the world's largest rodent.
Reptiles
Anaconda, Bushmaster, Caimans, Python, Crocodile, Mambas, Cobra and many more poisonous snakes.
Amphibians
Poisonous frogs.
Primates
Spider Monkeys, Howler Monkeys, Capuchin Monkeys, Squirrel Monkeys, Chimpanzees, Bonobos, Gorillas, Mandrills, Baboons, Colobus Monkeys, Bush Babies, Orangutan, Gibbons, Macaque Monkeys, Langur Monkeys and Tarsies.
Fish
Piranha, Tiger Fish and Betta.
Birds
Eagles, Macaw, Parrot and the Cockatoo.
Insect
Leaf-Cutter Ant and the Termite.

Each animal has its own special job to help keep the jungle alive and healthy. Animals and birds help spread seeds around the jungle. Insects and birds carry pollen from flower to flower.

Trophic Levels
Every ecosystem has trophic levels. The first trophic level consists of producers which are trees, flowers and many other plants that animals can feed off of for energy. This group has the greatest population and amount of energy. The second trophic level is the primary consumers which are herbivores like fish ants and insects. They feed off of the plants and consume the energy that is transferred. The third trophic level is the secondary consumers which are small carnivores/ omnivores like deer and kinkajous, feed on both small animals and plants. Again, energy is transferred to them but some is lost. The final trophic level consists of the tertiary consumers which are at the top of the food chain. These animals as the eagles, cougars and posionous frogs. They feed off of all animals below them. There are fewer of them in ecosystems because they consume way less energy than primary consumers for example.
